| Who
we are...
Our
Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) serves clients who have
experienced difficulties within other placements, require stabilization,
or are in need of comprehensive medical and psychiatric assessment.
Who
we serve...
We
serve male and female children, adolescents, and young adults from 8 years
to 21 years who are experiencing mental health, emotional regulation and
behavioral control difficulties. Our clients may also have co-occurring
diagnosis of an Intellectual / Developmental disability.
How
we serve...
We
have developed proficient skills to provide a full range of services within
this forty-bed rural facility located near Kingstree, Florence, Sumter
and Manning, South Carolina. Our location allows for social engagement
which supports the group and individual treatment.
The
admissions department works with a consumer's referral source to assess
our appropriateness in meeting the consumer's identified needs.
Documentation of the consumer's history and experiences will be requested
and reviewed and an admissions date set. Our program is able to
provide short-term stabilization and assessment (30 day minimum) up to
more extensive stays incorporating the completion of identified goals.
Prior to actual admission, a consumer is assigned a Therapist who will
begin to review the consumer's history and experiences initiating our
first assessment in conjunction with our Psychiatrist.
At
admission, the Therapist will continue to discover the consumer's past
experiences through interview and the assessment of life skills.
The Therapist will then develop an individualized plan of care that provides
hope through addressing the identified goals of our consumer, their identified
family, their State Agency, their home School District, as well as the
PRTF's Interdisciplinary Team. Together, these participants compose
the consumer's treatment team. The consumer will receive individual
and group therapy weekly and family therapy as identified by the treatemtn
team. The Therapist will also develop an individualized crisis management
plan based on the consumer's experience and medical, physical and psychological
history. Weekly, the Therapist will meet with the program's Psychiatrist
to review behavioral, medical or pyschological concerns. The psychiatrist
will then meet with the consumer to further his/her assessment.
Individuals from the consumer's treatment team are encouraged to arrange
with the Therapist to participate in these sessions.
In
conjunction with our clinical component, the consumer wil be involved
in a structured daily schedule that provides behavioral reinforcement
that focuses on social and independent living skill development. These
behaviors are reinforced throughout the day with use of our level system
and campus and community activities. Our residential staff work
closely with the consumer establishing a nurturing and supportive relationship
to provide assistance3 in individual skill development. Consumers
will aslo attend school during the week days with education provided by
the PRTF's home School District and specific care being given to address
the consumer's individual education needs. The consumer's treatment
team will be invited for all residential and educational meetings, assuring
a safety and trust through the collaborative discussion of progress and
discharge planning.
Our
goal...
It
is our goal to serve each consumer using strength-based treatments by
a dedicated and engaged staff within comfortable environments performing
interactive experiences that promote their growth and successful completion
of their identified goals.
