Willowglen Academy - Wisconsin

Willowglen Academy-Wisconsin's students present a diverse range of special educational needs. A structured environment provides the student with opportunities to achieve a greater degree of independence as individual academic needs, self confidence, socially responsible behavior, interpersonal skills and problem solving techniques are developed. The academic levels and life skills needs of the students, as indicated in their Individual Education Plans,determine assessment procedures, classroom curriculum, and instructional and behavioral approaches.

All Willowglen Academy-Wisconsin teachers have special education certification, and there are aides in each classroom. Resources used to enhance Willowglen Academy-Wisconsin's life skills curriculum include: Title 1 services in reading and math, computers, speech and language services, psychiatric and psychological consultation, and inter-agency collaboration. The school schedule consists of a 216-day, year-round programs. Willowglen Academy-Wisconsin's school program serves students from the Willowglen Academy-Wisconsin residential program as well as the surrounding area school districts.

Willowglen Academy Residential Day School Program
Day school services are provided within the WIllowglen Academy-Wisconsin's residential schools. This program serves students who remain in their home, but are unable to maintain in a public school setting. In cooperation with parents and school districts, WIllowglen schools foster the environment for individual educational success of the student. The goal is to provide students with the needed skills to transition to successful school placement within the public school setting.

Educational services are tailored to the individual needs of each student. A structured environment provides students with opportunities to achieve academic, social and behavioral success. The academic and life skills needs, as indicated in their Individualized Education Plan, determine the needed instruction for each individual.
