Who we are

Howard A. Jansen Day Treatment is a highly structured and intensive, therapeutically based medical day treatment program.

Who we serve

The population served consists of severely emotionally disturbed, conduct disordered mentally ill and/or behaviorally challenged children and adolescents, age 6 to 21. Because of the severity of their emotional and/or behavioral disorders, these children are unable to function in public school settings or other less restrictive environments. Treatment for these individuals is focused on the behavioral, educational and psychosocial needs of the child.

Many of our clients have observed behavioral or mental health related issues, such as, but not limited to:

  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder
  • Conduct Disorder
  • Mood Disorder
  • ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Anxiety Disorder
  • Intermittent Explosive Disorder

Our goal

The goal of the Day Treatment Program is to provide a structured and supportive environment for therapeutic and educational services. The Day Treatment Program clients also receive instructions in problem-solving techniques to decrease inappropriate behaviors, as well as instruction on enhancing communication and socialization skills. This approach helps to facilitate the student's return to his or her community school with less intensive supportive services.
